Our Story
Elkemi established, owned and run by Myrtleford locals since 2015.
Elkemi is your go to for all your clothing and accessory needs. From Zafino jewellery to dressy pieces from Sass and Silent Theory to laid back casual outfits from RipCurl, All About Eve and Rhythm. We start from size 1 and go to a XXXL in mens and 18 in ladies (we are currently working on expanding our size range!) We pride ourselves on honesty and trust as well as in creating a welcoming space for everyone.
Our new and regular customers mean the world to us, so ensuring we have a safe and welcoming space for everyone in store and online is a priority! To do that we ensure to be honest and excepting as well as listening to your needs and doing everything in our power to solve any problems, from a if a fault item may occur to an outfit needed for an event.
We aim to bring you products you love and feel good in. Quality and fashion forward pieces to elevate your wardrobe. We are constantly working on and in the business to continue to grow and improve.
Growing up, I’ve always had a passion for fashion and makeup even though some of my outfits were questionable. I’ve also spent most of my life dancing and performing, which has instilled in me a strong work ethic and a deep understanding of dedication and discipline. Values I carry with me in my everyday life.

Elkemi was always the one local shop I knew I wanted to work at since 2015 when it was established. It was the coolest store in town! The kind of place that felt inspiring, creative and had all the trendy brands. As soon as I reached legal working age in 2017, I applied. At the time, the owners weren’t looking for anyone, but I was determined. I showed them how eager I was and followed up a week later. From that moment on, history was made.

Over the next four years, I immersed myself in everything the business had to offer. Learning the ins and outs of retail, understanding how a small business truly operates, and most importantly, discovering what our community needs and how Elkemi can serve it best. I grew into a management role for a year, gaining confidence and experience that would shape my future.

After completing Year 12, an unexpected opportunity arose! The business came up for sale. I remember doubting whether I was old enough, whether I was ready. But deep down, I knew this was what I wanted. Owning Elkemi wasn’t just an idea, it was a calling, a gut feeling. In 2021, I took the leap, and I’ve never looked back.

Running a business is the hardest I’ve ever worked, but it is also the most rewarding. There is nothing more fulfilling than helping customers find pieces that make them feel confident, comfortable and truly themselves. Being a business owner in a local town is about more than just selling products. It’s about building genuine connections, creating a welcoming space for everyone who walks through the door, and contributing positively to the community.

Elkemi allows me to express creativity in every aspect. From carefully selecting stock to styling, merchandising and advertising. Every decision is made with our customers in mind.Elkemi isn’t just a store to me. It’s a space built on passion, persistence and community. And I’m so grateful to continue its story...
